The Rector
Our university is a driver of the development of the Arctic and the Far East. NEFU has taken a significant step forward, focusing on the mission of being a supporting university for the geostrategic territories of Russia. Our changes affect all aspects of our activities: from educational programs to scientific breakthroughs and infrastructure transformations, and they are all subordinated to key priorities: the Arctic, technological sovereignty, and human capital development.
About the University
NEFU is a leading university in Yakutia and the Arctic region of Russia, founded in 1956. The university has 18 academic units and three branches, where about 20,000 students study. The university trains highly qualified specialists in a wide range of fields — from traditional humanities and technical specialties to disciplines relevant to the Arctic, such as oil and gas engineering and Arctic medicine. The activities of NEFU include more than 10 institutes, research centers, and international programs aimed at integrating education with practice. Students not only receive quality knowledge in their future profession but also develop comprehensively: the university has creative teams, sports sections in various sports, as well as student organizations. In each educational unit, scientific societies are opened, promoting the development of research skills.

Botanical Garden
The tasks of the Garden include the creation of special collections of living plants for the preservation and enrichment of the gene pool of the plant world, as well as the implementation of scientific, educational, environmental, and educational activities; the development of fundamental and applied research aimed at their preservation.

Center for Student Initiatives
The Center for Student Initiatives is a new platform created specifically for students. An open space accessible to all students of NEFU, where events are held weekly. The space is open daily for coworking and gathers dozens of students and staff.

mammoth museum
The Mammoth Museum is one of the most popular museums in Yakutia and one of the calling cards of the NEFU. Every year, the museum is visited by thousands of residents and guests of the republic. The main areas of activity of the museum are: scientific research, museum and exhibition work, international activities.

KC "Sergelyachskie Fogni"
The Cultural Center "Sergelyachskie Ogni" is a well-known theater and concert venue in Yakutsk. 4248 square meters: an auditorium with 610 seats and a balcony with 124 seats, spacious foyers and a winter garden, an exhibition hall (350 sq.m), club studios, and a buffet.

Stadium "Youth"
The complex includes an athletics arena and 3 sports halls. On the first floor of the sports complex, there is an athletics arena (total area - 1,028.5 sq. m) of 100 meters with running tracks and a jump pit, as well as a sports platform for practicing national sports

Pool "Dolgun"
Students are provided with swimming services in large and small bathtubs, with a complex of changing rooms and showers: a large bathtub measuring 25x11m is divided into 5 lanes, with a maximum depth of 3.4 m. In the Medical and Rehabilitation Department, restorative and health-improving activities are conducted.
