Jurisprudence is a basic discipline that forms unique thinking in students. The University named after O.E. Kutafin (MGJA) has a long history, thanks to which several dozen schools have been formed in various fields of law. MGUA is the largest specialized university in the country, with unique programs and departments aimed not only at studying all necessary theory but also at applying all acquired knowledge in practice.
About the University
Founded in 1931. Currently, MGUA is the flagship of domestic legal education and one of the leading legal research centers in Russia and the near abroad. Within the framework of MGUA, programs of pre-university training, secondary, higher, and additional education are implemented in the following profiles of training: general, innovative jurisprudence, international law, and comparative jurisprudence, international law, state law, civil law, and criminal law. MGUA traditionally occupies high positions in ratings: 21st place in the Forbes ranking of the best Russian universities of 2025, 26th place in the RAEX-100 ranking of the best Russian universities of 2025, 58th-69th place among Russian universities in the international ranking "Three Missions of the University" of 2025. Promising areas of cooperation with MGUA are social law, cyber law, ecological law, geolaw, biolaw, sustainable development law, ESG standards, as well as an entrepreneurial university.
