Foreign students study in more than 100 educational programs. The most in-demand specialties are medicine, including those taught in English, veterinary medicine, agronomy, biology, pedagogy, philology, thermal energy, and thermal engineering.

The strategic partners of the university, participating in the preparation of students, are the domestic innovative biopharmaceutical company "Promomed" and one of the largest agroholdings in Russia, "Talina." For conducting internships, the university has opened 21 base departments at leading enterprises in Saransk in various sectors of the economy:

- Technopark of the Republic of Mordovia;
- JSC "Saran Television Plant";
- JSC "Optical Fiber Systems";
- JSC "Ruzkhimmash" and others. Information about vacancies with industrial partners of the university and in other organizations is posted on the university's website and social networks. In addition, foreign students travel to their home country for internships in medical institutions. Currently, more than 20 contracts have been concluded between Moscow State University and foreign medical institutions.
