About the training program
The content of the profile “Literature of the Peoples of Foreign Countries (with a specific literature indicated)” consists in developing issues related to the historical development of the world’s literatures—excluding Russian literature, the literatures of the peoples of Russia, and Russian émigré literature in the 20th century—in the most significant phenomena and patterns of this process. The basic subject of research is the history and current state of the literature of a particular country or of countries united by a common language (language family) or cultural traditions, considered in their integrity and internal dialectic, as well as the totality of the creative achievements of individual outstanding authors.
