The Rector
The goal of our institute is to train specialists in all theatrical professions. Today, our teachers, who are theatrical practitioners, train actors and directors, artistic technologists and production designers, cinematographers and sound engineers, theater experts and producers for all types of theater, cinema, and television. The main thing in the development of higher education, in my opinion, is to preserve educational traditions, keep up with the times, and meet today's industry demands.
About the University
The Russian State Institute of Stage Arts is the first theatrical university in the country (founded in 1779) and the largest scientific and educational center for stage arts in Europe, training specialists in all major theatrical professions. It was here that the foundations of Russian theatrical pedagogy were laid, and today the traditions of the St. Petersburg school of stage art, which has received wide recognition in our country and abroad, are creatively developing. RGISI consists of eight faculties:

Branch of RGISI in Vladivostok
On the Eagle's Nest hill – the highest point of the historical part of Vladivostok – the Museum Center, the Concert Hall of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater, and the Branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts – "Primorsky Higher School of Music and Theater Art" will be located.
Branch of RGISI in Kaliningrad
The branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts - "Baltic Higher School of Musical and Theatrical Arts" (BHSEMT) - is the first institution of higher education in the Kaliningrad region where one can master a modern creative profession.
Branch of RGISI in Kemerovo
The branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in Kemerovo is the Siberian Higher School of Music and Theater Arts (SHSE). The rich traditions of the oldest theater university in Russia are passed on to the students of the branch using the latest digital technologies.
Educational Theater "On Mokhovaya"
The educational theater "On Mokhovaya" is unique and has no analogs in St. Petersburg. On this stage, students of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts play – future stars of theater and cinema. The theater building is an architectural monument, the famous Tenishev School.
