About the training program
The Bachelor's degree programme «Indonesian-Malay Philology (with the additional qualification of “Translation Specialist”)» is designed to develop students’ comprehensive understanding of the linguistic, cultural, political, economic, social, ethnic, confessional, literary and other characteristics of the region, alongside an in-depth study of Oriental languages.
What do graduates do?
Students have access to unique electronic resources in Russian, Eastern and Western languages, as well as to the specialized branch of the M. Gorky Scientific Library, whose collection comprises more than 300,000 volumes of academic, educational, literary and periodical publications in all the languages of the regions studied, a collection of ancient manuscripts and woodblock prints, and rare and unique books and lithographs.
After completing their studies, students have the opportunity to continue their education in a master’s programme at the Faculty of Oriental Studies or at other Russian or foreign universities.
