About the training program
The main bachelor's degree educational programme “Tibetan Philology (with an additional qualification as a Translation Specialist)” is designed to equip students with a comprehensive body of fundamental knowledge about the languages, literatures, culture, history, ethno-confessional and social traditions, and contemporary political and economic processes of Tibet (China), based on an in-depth study of Eastern languages.
What do graduates do?
Students have access to unique electronic resources in Russian, Eastern and Western languages, as well as to a specialized branch of the M. Gorky Scientific Library. Its collection includes more than 300,000 volumes of scholarly, educational, literary and periodical publications in all the languages of the regions studied, a collection of ancient manuscripts and woodblock prints, and rare and unique books and lithographs.
After completing their studies, students have the opportunity to continue their education in a master's programme at the Faculty of Oriental Studies or at other Russian or foreign universities.
