About the training program
The program is intended for motivated students with good mathematical preparation. A significant part of those applying to the program are winners and prize-winners of the best Russian school olympiads in mathematics and computer science, so the speed of material presentation and the proposed educational tasks correspond to their level of preparation. We are also glad to those applicants who did not participate in the olympiads, but they must be ready for serious work on mastering the material and solving problems.
What do graduates do?
Most of the bachelor's graduates enter the master's program of our faculty or foreign universities (France, Switzerland) and start working part-time in scientific institutions: the P.L. Chebyshev Laboratory of St. Petersburg State University, the St. Petersburg Branch of the V.A. Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the L. Euler International Mathematical Institute. The first group of the bachelor's program "Mathematics" completed the master's program in the 2020/21 academic year. Most of the students have enrolled in the graduate school of our faculty, the POMI RAS, as well as foreign universities (Cambridge, London, Brussels, Jerusalem, Trondheim, etc.). The rest of the graduates work in companies such as "Yandex," "Huawei."
