About the training program
The Bachelor's degree program 45.03.01 “Philology” at UrFU provides fundamental training in language and literature, combining theory, history, and practical work with texts. Students study the Russian language in depth (its history, structure, and contemporary processes) and literature (from the classics to the present day), master methods of philological analysis, and learn to apply their knowledge in various fields—from research and teaching to media, editing, and intercultural communication.
What do graduates do?
Author of literary and journalistic texts, literary critic; proofreader, editor; head of creative and social projects in the arts and culture; speechwriter, press secretary; teacher of Russian language and literature, and Russian as a foreign language. Instructor on Unified State Exam (ЕГЭ) preparation courses. Public speaking specialist. Where graduates work: at universities and schools (teaching), in publishing houses, the media and digital media (editing, copywriting, content creation), research centres and archives, in translation and intercultural communication, and in cultural and educational projects.
