About the training program

The program is aimed at training engineers for the design, construction, and operation of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric power plants. During their studies, students master key disciplines: hydromechanics, hydrology, the basics of renewable energy, and study the design and principles of operation of hydroturbine equipment. Special attention is paid to practical skills in calculating, modeling, and evaluating the efficiency of hydropower facilities, as well as issues of operation and maintenance of water management structures. Graduates are ready for professional activities in the field of hydropower, water resource management, and infrastructure development of hydrotechnical complexes.

What do graduates do?

Graduates work in the field of hydropower and water management: at hydroelectric power plants and hydroelectric storage power plants, including small and micro-hydroelectric power plants. They are employed at infrastructure facilities — dams, water retaining, water intake, and discharge structures, reservoirs, daily regulation basins, and water pipelines. Specialists work in design and construction organizations, energy companies, research institutes, participate in energy management and the development of hydropower, including the maintenance of hydroturbine equipment and automatic control systems for technological processes of hydroelectric power plants.
