Russian-speaking students from CIS and Baltic states are welcome.

Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University has opened applications for the summer school in Media Dimension of European Integration. The university offers school participants free training, accommodation and meals. Classes will run in Kaliningrad on 19 - 25 August 2019. The short programme is intended for 3rd to 5th-year international students and postgraduates studying journalism, international relations or other humanities. They will hear a course of lectures on Russia’s cooperation with the European Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic states and discuss the role of social media in the modern world. The teachers are professional journalists, political scientists, historians and specialists in other fields.

IKBFU summer school students will meet like-minded persons, deepen their knowledge in journalism and see places of interest in and around Kaliningrad. The programme includes visits to the Amber Museum, the Museum of the World Ocean, the Kaliningrad Cathedral, the Zoo, the Fringilla Ornithological station and a trip to the Curonian Spit.

Candidates have to pass competitive selection. Send a filled-out application (the form is available on the IKBFU website), a copy of passport, a certificate proving your student status translated into Russian and an essay in Russian on one of the four topics of the school (see programme description) to stbaschool@gmail.com. Application deadline: 21 July (for foreign nationals requiring a Russian visa); 31 July (for foreigners from visa-free countries). Competitive selection results are due on 1 August.
