To gain hands-on experience in their profession, residents see patients in their specialty and patients in the hospital department, participate in therapeutic and diagnostic procedures—many of which they perform independently under the supervision of experienced physicians—provide care for oncology patients during rehabilitation and for oncology patients at their initial visits, and conduct consultations jointly with the heads of radiology departments. At the department, residents have the opportunity to participate in international conferences, the oncology and radiology academic society, and excursions organized by the department to the Herzen Institute. The department has a multimedia classroom.
