Tomsk Polytechnic University

National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University is the oldest technical university in the Asian part of Russia. In 2026, it celebrates 130 years since its foundation. Today, Tomsk Polytechnic is ranked 1st in Russia in oil and gas (QS rating; position in the world ranking — 30th place), chemical technologies, and energy (RAEX rating), and among the leaders in nuclear technologies, electronics, IT, and other areas. The university is a recognized center for scientific research and training of world-class specialists in the fields of nuclear and hydrogen energy, oil and gas extraction and transportation, IT, non-destructive testing, energy and electrical engineering, electronics, nanotechnologies, and biotechnologies. The university has more than 100 scientific laboratories and centers. The scientific infrastructure of Tomsk Polytechnic University includes a research nuclear reactor — the most powerful university reactor in Russia. This is the only operating nuclear facility in the country where foreigners can undergo training.
