Dagestan State University is the oldest and leading higher education institution in our republic. About the University
Dagestan State University (DSU) is the oldest and largest higher education institution in the Republic of Dagestan, as well as a major educational, research and cultural centre. It was founded in 1931.
Education is provided in various fields, including natural sciences, humanities, economics, engineering and technical specialties and study areas.
The university comprises 2 institutes, 17 faculties, 97 departments, 4 branches, 2 museums (biological and historical), a fundamental library, a biological station and a planetarium.
Its research and innovation complex includes 6 research institutes, 16 research and education centres, the Foton Technopark and an innovation and technology centre.
The university’s structure also includes sociocultural facilities: a health resort and preventive clinic, a Palace of Sport, a research library, a sports and recreation camp and a football field.
The university actively promotes a healthy lifestyle. Students take part in various sports clubs and participate in competitions and contests.
