About the training program
Continuing the traditions of Russian humanities education, the program is designed to train professional classicists who are also broad-based humanities specialists. This is one of the fundamental ways in which the program differs from similar programs at other universities: our students are not limited to narrowly specialized courses, but receive a comprehensive education in history, literary studies, and cultural history. The learning process offers a unique combination of students’ work with sources from different eras, familiarization with archaeological materials, and the study of ancient societies not in isolation, but in the context of the interconnections and mutual influences among the richest cultural traditions.
