About the training program
This is a unique bachelor’s degree program in Religious Studies in Russia that trains religious studies scholars with an in-depth specialization in new religious movements.
Students:
● learn about the diversity of new religious movements, associations, sects, and cults; the reasons for and conditions of their formation; the specifics of their relations with state authorities and traditional religions; and the history of the anti-cult movement;
● become acquainted with various historical forms of Russian and foreign heterodoxy and learn about new forms of religiosity in the digital age;
master the anthropological, sociological, and psychological tools essential for studying non-traditional religiosity.
