About the training program
For the first time in the academic education system, a training program specializing in “the theory and practice of contemporary art” is being launched. Particular attention is devoted to an in-depth introduction to the world of art, especially the world of contemporary art: the curriculum includes the history of performance art, modern theatre, video art and photography, exhibitions and cinema, as well as the history of contemporary architecture. The theoretical issues of contemporary art are studied comprehensively. The history of contemporary art is covered in detail, and, also for the first time, the program includes a dedicated course on “the history of contemporary Russian art.”
