Admission as part of a general competition
Standard admission procedure for foreign citizens on general grounds. Admission occurs based on the results of entrance tests or on the basis of education documents.

Admission within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation for foreign citizens. The number of places is limited, selection is conducted on a competitive basis through Rossotrudnichestvo.

Admission to the Olympiads
Preferential admission for winners and prize-winners of international olympiads included in the list of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The right to admission without entrance exams is granted.

Admission with grant provision
Admission in the presence of an educational grant from Russian or international organizations, funds, state programs. The grant can cover tuition, accommodation, and a scholarship.

Important information
Medical certificates usually need to be obtained in Russia after entering the country, and they are valid for a limited period (for example, 3 months for a temporary residence permit (TRP)). The university may require them for moving into a dormitory and/or for migration registration. Fingerprinting and medical examination documents (for those already in Russia) Photographs (4 matte photographs, 3.5×4.5 cm, black-and-white or color) Migration card, a copy of the migration card (for those staying in the Russian Federation) indicating the purpose of entry as “study”.
