About the training program
The Psychiatry residency program is designed to train specialists in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. Throughout their training, residents gain expertise in clinical psychiatry, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, neurology, as well as the legal and ethical aspects of patient care. The program provides comprehensive experience in working with diverse patient populations, from children to the elderly, covering emergency interventions, management of chronic mental illnesses, and rehabilitation.
What do graduates do?
Graduates of the Psychiatry residency program pursue careers as psychiatrists, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with mental disorders. They work in psychiatric hospitals, specialized outpatient clinics, addiction treatment centers, crisis intervention services, and rehabilitation facilities. Their responsibilities include prescribing medications, conducting psychotherapy sessions, providing guidance to patients' families, as well as promoting mental health prevention and facilitating the social reintegration of individuals with psychiatric conditions.
