About the training program

The residency program in the specialty "Psychiatry" is aimed at training specialists engaged in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. During their training, residents study clinical psychiatry, psychopharmacology, psychotherapeutic methods, neurology, as well as legal and ethical aspects of working with patients. The program covers work with various categories of patients – from children to the elderly, including emergency care, management of chronic mental illnesses, and rehabilitation.

  • Provide counseling to patients and their families on social rehabilitation and adaptation.
  • Administer psychopharmacotherapy and psychotherapy for patients with mental disorders.

What do graduates do?

Graduates of this residency program "Psychiatry" work as psychiatrists, engaged in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with mental disorders. They work in psychiatric hospitals, specialized outpatient centers, narcological clinics, crisis services, and rehabilitation institutions. The tasks of psychiatrists include prescribing medication, conducting psychotherapeutic talks, working with patients' relatives, as well as prevention and social adaptation of people with mental disorders.
