About the university

Mordovian State University named after N. P. Ogaryov is a classical Russian university with a history dating back to October 1, 1931. Over the past 93 years, it has grown into a major center for higher education, scientific research, and youth policy in Russia.

The university offers 352 educational programs at the undergraduate, specialist, and master’s levels, as well as secondary vocational education, covering natural sciences, engineering, and humanities. It consists of 13 institutes, 4 faculties, and 2 branches.

83% of the university’s faculty members hold academic degrees and titles. The university has 102 departments, 47 of which are led by professors and doctors of science.

University infrastructure

Main campus

The Main campus is a major landmark of the city and the tallest structure in its center. More than just an architectural symbol, it is the heart of the university.

It houses the university's rector, key administrative departments, and several faculties.

Dormitories (student city)

The student campus comprises 18 dormitories, accommodating up to 5,500 residents. Located near the university’s academic buildings, the dormitories offer furnished double and triple rooms, along with access to showers, kitchens, laundry facilities, common areas, and a sports hall.

Palace of Culture and Arts

The Palace of Culture and Arts is a modern venue with a 570-seat concert hall, where creativity, talent, and tradition come together. It hosts the vibrant Ogaryov Color Festival, the inspiring School for Gifted Students, exciting first-year student competitions, and the dazzling Miss University page

Ogaryov Arena

"Ogaryov Arena" is a hall with 8,106 seats that can be transformed into an ice rink, a sports venue, and a concert stage. Visitors can enjoy ice skating, explore the museum, use the gym and fitness facilities, and practice Greco-Roman wrestling in a new hall under the guidance of world champion Alex

The Indian Culture Center

At the Indian Culture Center, students take part in yoga sessions, workshops on sari tying and henna painting, and an English conversation club. The center also hosts Indian cultural celebrations such as Diwali, Onam, and Vishu.

The Russian-Chinese Center

The Russian-Chinese Center holds traditional tea ceremonies and workshops on the basics of Chinese calligraphy. It also organizes events to celebrate significant occasions in the People's Republic of China.
