Rules for admitting foreign applicants
Detailed information about various methods of admission to a Russian university for foreign citizens. Choose the appropriate option and familiarize yourself with the necessary documents.
Admission as part of a general competition
Standard admission procedure for foreign citizens on general grounds. Admission occurs based on the results of entrance tests or on the basis of education documents.
Required documents:
National (foreign) passport with a translation into Russian (the translation must be notarized)

3×4 photos (without a clipped corner), matte finish (either color or black-and-white)

For applicants to full-time and part-time study programs: medical certificates—Form 086-у (for applicants to higher education institutions); a vaccination certificate confirming immunization against measles, diphtheria, and tuberculosis; blood test results for HIV, RW, and hepatitis B (medical certificates must be submitted upon entry into the Russian Federation). A document confirming the equivalence of education previously obtained in countries outside the former Soviet Union, the Baltic states, and Georgia.

Medical insurance policy (issued in Moscow) for students enrolled in full-time and part-time study formats. If the policy is purchased in the student’s home country (for a period of at least 1 year), it must specify the medical institutions in Moscow that will provide medical care when necessary;

For applicants from visa-required countries, the University issues an official invitation to obtain an entry study visa from the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in the applicant’s country of residence. Foreign nationals applying for admission within the quota for the education of foreign citizens at Russian universities, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, may submit their documents ONLY IF THEY HAVE A REFERRAL FOR STUDY FROM THE RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION.

Admission within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation for foreign citizens. The number of places is limited, selection is conducted on a competitive basis through Rossotrudnichestvo.
