About the University
Volgograd State Technical University was founded in 1930 and is one of Russia’s leading technical universities.
Around 15,000 students, including approximately 2,500 international students, study at the university and its three branches.
VolgSTU trains highly qualified specialists for the machine-building, chemical, petrochemical, construction and food industries, metalworking and road transport, as well as in architecture, computer technology, economics and management.
Over its 90-year history, VolgSTU has produced more than 120,000 highly qualified specialists. More than 6,000 graduates from over 80 countries have received university diplomas, and more than 100 international graduates have earned a PhD.
VolgSTU has a modern material and technical base that enables high-quality education and research. The university’s technopark manufactures high-tech products for various industries.

To foreign citizens
The training of foreign specialists at VolgGTU has been carried out since 1962. Since 1973, the Faculty of Training Foreign Specialists has been established at the university. Currently, the university has all the necessary services for the training and visa support of foreign citizens.

Scientific and Technical Library
14 subscriptions, 17 reading rooms, 6 internet classes, a reading room for scientific and educational resources (electronic library), over 200 automated workstations for users, about 2,500,000 copies of books and magazines on traditional and electronic media in all fields of knowledge.
