Residency training focuses primarily on the consultative work of a laboratory geneticist physician rather than on basic laboratory skills (which can be acquired through secondary vocational education). The key is the ability to interpret research results based on knowledge of the causes, mechanisms, and symptoms of diseases, as well as the effects of medicines. Residents undertake practical training in the departments of clinical facilities under the supervision of professors and participate in clinical case discussions. This is how they develop practical experience and deepen their knowledge.
