About the training program
The Anthropology and Ethnology (Archaeology and Anthropology of Northern and Forest Asia) program is devoted to the study of the cultures, ethnicities, and archaeological sites of Northern and Forest Asia, with a focus on the Arctic, Siberia, and Central Asia. Students explore the ethnographic traditions of indigenous peoples (Yakuts, Evenks, Buryats, Kazakh groups), archaeological excavations, physical anthropology, and sociocultural processes. The program was developed in cooperation with the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev (Kazakhstan), including the exchange of experience on Central Asian cultures. Emphasis on interdisciplinary methods: ethnography, population genetics, digitization of artifacts.
