About the University

N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University is a classical university in Russia, whose history dates back to October 1, 1931. Over 95 years, the university has become a major center of higher education, science, and youth policy in Russia.

In accordance with its license, during the reporting year the university offers 303 higher and secondary vocational education programs: 83 bachelor’s degree programs, 22 specialist degree programs, 65 master’s degree programs, 71 postgraduate programs, 39 residency programs, and 23 programs in secondary vocational education specialties. The university’s educational activities are carried out across 13 institutes, 4 faculties, 2 branches, and a representative office in the Republic of India.

The share of teaching staff holding academic degrees and titles is 66%.

The university has 93 departments, 40 of which are headed by doctors of sciences; 6 departments have 100% of their teaching staff holding academic degrees.

Russian-Chinese Center

The Russian-Chinese Center hosts traditional tea ceremonies and workshops on “The Basics of Chinese Calligraphy.” It also organizes events dedicated to celebrating significant occasions of the People’s Republic of China.

Indian Culture Center

At the Indian Culture Centre, students take part in group yoga sessions, sari-tying and henna-painting workshops, and an English conversation club is available. The centre organizes Indian cultural festivals such as Diwali, Onam, and Vishu.

Ogarev Arena

“Ogaryov Arena” is a 8,106-seat venue that can be transformed into an ice arena, sports facility, or concert venue. Visitors can go ice skating, visit the museum, use the gym and fitness rooms, and practice Greco-Roman wrestling in the new hall under the guidance of World Champion Alexey Surkov.

Palace of Culture and Arts

The Palace of Culture and Arts is a modern building with a 570-seat concert hall. We look forward to welcoming you here at the Ogarevsky Colors national cultures festival, the School for Gifted Students, competitions for first-year students, and the University Beauty Pageant.

The student campus comprises 18 dormitories designed to accommodate 5 500 residents. The buildings, located close to the university’s academic campuses, offer furnished double and triple rooms, showers, kitchens, laundry facilities, common areas, and a gym.

The Main Building is an important landmark of the city and the tallest building in its center. It is not only an architectural symbol but also the heart of the university.
