The Rector
In 2025, we marked a significant date with special pride – the 130th anniversary of transport education in the Russian Far East. Our university traces its history back to October 1895, when the first technical railway school was opened in Khabarovsk. This rich history, the path traveled from a modest departmental educational institution to the largest university complex in the East of Russia, are a reliable foundation for our current achievements.
About the University
The Far Eastern State University of Communications trains engineers, economists, managers, IT specialists, and lawyers for enterprises in the railway transport, energy, construction industry, and other industries. DVGUPS is one of the largest technical universities in the Far Eastern Federal District. About 18,000 people study here under programs of secondary vocational, higher, and additional education. There is a Military Training Center. Out-of-town students live in student dormitories. 85% of graduates find a job within a year after graduation.

In DVGUPS there is a large canteen, a pizzeria, a sandwich shop, and a cafe. Near the university there are 3 national cafes with Chinese cuisine.
Scientific and Technical Library
The DVGUPS library is one of the largest university libraries in the region. Its total collection is over 2 million books. The DVGUPS library has several reading rooms and literature departments. Their collection includes a wide range of literature in all directions, modern periodicals.
student club
A separate building with a theater hall. The club hosts rehearsals and performances of all university groups.
Sports complex
Includes sports grounds, stadium. The complex building houses an athletics arena, swimming pool, halls for boxing, weightlifting, and other sports.
