About the University
Volga Research Medical University is one of the leaders in Russian medical education, which is annually confirmed by Russian and foreign independent rankings. Here, 8,500 students from all over Russia and 50 countries study under programs of secondary vocational education, specialty, residency, master's, and postgraduate studies. We emphasize practice-oriented learning: students hone their manual skills in simulation centers, the Scientific and Educational Center for Surgical Mastery, and educational laboratories. The university's network of clinical bases is represented by more than 50 leading clinics in Nizhny Novgorod and the region. University Clinic PIMU, one of the largest clinics in the city, where annually more than 22,000 patients in the country receive inpatient care in the areas of traumatology and orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, and dentistry, etc.
