Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a branch of surgery dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the bones of the facial skull and jaws, the soft tissues of the face and neck, and the oral cavity. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is closely related to dentistry, especially surgical dentistry, but its scope is broader and includes adjacent anatomical structures (nose, orbit, auditory canals)
