About the University
Y.A. Gagarin Saratov State Technical University (SSTU) is one of the best technical universities in Russia and a flagship university of the Roscosmos and Rosatom state corporations, where students are trained for promising and in-demand professions. The university has received two orders: the Order of the Red Banner of Labour and the Order of Yuri Gagarin. More than 21,000 students study in over 280 fields of study across 8 institutes, the Institute of Continuing and Pre-University Education, 2 branches in the cities of Engels and Petrovsk, and the Professional-Pedagogical College. The university is distinguished by unique research achievements, a high-tech educational and information environment, international recognition, and well-established cultural traditions. Y.A. Scientific and Technical Library
At the Scientific and Technical Library of SGTU, students have access to print and electronic publications in various fields of study, as well as Russian and international databases. The library’s modern and comfortable reading rooms are ideal for studying, reading, preparing for classes, and relaxing.
Sport
The university campus features a modern stadium, spacious sports halls, facilities for football, basketball, volleyball and tennis, and the Start sports and recreation centre. Students can join sports clubs in a wide range of disciplines, including athletics, wrestling, yoga and fitness.
Museum space
The SGTU Museum Space is an entire network of venues brought together under the auspices of the Cultural and Educational Center “Museum Space”: the Yuri Gagarin SGTU Museum of History, the Museum of Natural History, the Radio Museum, the virtual museum “SADI-SPI-SGTU: Pages of History,” the Museum of Household Engineering, and others.
Language Training Center
Training under additional educational programmes: "Pre-university training: engineering and technical profile"; "Pre-university training: medical and biological profile". Students receive a certificate in the prescribed format (B1 level). Tuition is provided on a fee-paying basis and within the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Student Creativity Center
The Creativity Center is a place where young talents can bring their ideas to life. Our team consists of experienced and creative professionals who know how to create an unforgettable atmosphere and inspiring events. The center’s creative areas include choreography, music, variety arts, and theater.
Sports and Science Center
The «Polytechnic» recreational center is located on the picturesque left bank of the Volga River, 3 km from the town of Marx. It has 48 cottages, a dining hall, a club, a library, a first-aid station, a boat station, 4 sports grounds, a mini-football field, a dance floor, and a beach.
