Over its 92-year history, our university has evolved from a pedagogical institute into a multidisciplinary classical university with strong research and teaching schools well known both in Russia and abroad.KBSU is a large university complex bringing together institutions of various profiles and levels that offer higher, secondary vocational, postgraduate, and additional professional education programs.
About the University
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov is one of the leading universities in the region. More than 20,000 students study there, including over 2,000 international students. This year, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov celebrates its 92nd anniversary.
The university has joined the Priority 2030 programme. This provides an opportunity to develop and modernise its educational and research activities. As a result of this participation, new laboratories are being opened, research is being conducted, and innovative projects are being developed at the university.
The university comprises 11 institutes, 1 medical academy, and 4 colleges. It provides all the necessary conditions for high-quality education and the advancement of research.

The Elbrus Educational and Research Complex of KBSU (EUNK) is located in one of the most picturesque areas of Russia—the Elbrus region. Its facilities can accommodate around 200 people at the same time in comfortable living conditions. The complex also includes educational and research, cultural and recreational, and health and wellness facilities.
Sports facilities
KBGU’s sports infrastructure includes a stadium with a natural grass surface and running tracks, an artificial mini-football pitch, a sports and fitness complex equipped with a swimming pool, as well as five sports halls in the academic buildings.

University Clinic
The university clinic is located in a new two-storey building. It is equipped with modern diagnostic, laboratory, and therapeutic medical equipment. University students receive qualified medical care at the clinic.

Student campus
The campus comprises 12 student residence halls with a total of 3,833 beds. The residence halls offer two types of accommodation layout: corridor-style and block-style. Residents may use individual high-power electrical appliances; Internet access is available, and the academic buildings are within walking distance.

University campus
The university campus covers an area of 41.4 hectares and includes 34 buildings with teaching facilities, classrooms, libraries, laboratories, offices, conference halls, cafeterias, and a sports hall, as well as 12 mainly corridor-type dormitories for students and faculty.
