The profile «Comparative-Historical, Typological and Contrastive Linguistics» covers: ¬ development and advancement of linguistic theory and methodology based on the study of genetically related languages and the establishment of relationships between related languages, as well as the description of their evolution in time and space; ¬ study of the structural and functional properties of languages, regardless of the nature of the genetic relationships between them; ¬ research into and description of a language through its systematic comparison with other languages in order to explain its specificity (systemic idiomaticity); ¬ development of the theory and methodology of translation studies, and more.

Применение современных теорий и методологий языкознания к анализу языковых систем, структур, единиц и категорий.
Подготовка научных публикаций, докладов и диссертации с соблюдением требований академического письма, научной аргументации и профессиональной этики.
Представление и внедрение результатов лингвистических исследований в образовательную, переводческую, экспертную, цифровую и научно-исследовательскую практику.
Сбор, систематизация и обработка лингвистического материала с использованием текстовых корпусов, словарей, грамматических описаний, цифровых баз данных и результатов полевых исследований.
Комплексный анализ языковых явлений на фонетическом, лексическом, морфологическом, словообразовательном, синтаксическом, семантическом и прагматическом уровнях.
Сопоставительное исследование родственных и неродственных языков с выявлением типологических сходств, различий, языковых универсалий и национальной специфики.
Проведение сравнительно-исторического и типологического анализа языков, включая исследование их происхождения, развития, контактов и ареального распространения.
Применение количественных, корпусных, экспериментальных и информационно-коммуникационных методов для получения и интерпретации языковых данных.
Разработка прикладных лингвистических решений в области перевода, межкультурной коммуникации, автоматической обработки текста, языковой экспертизы и речевых технологий.
