About the University
Southern Federal University is the largest research and educational center in southern Russia, with a history dating back to 1915. The university’s uniqueness lies in its location. SFedU is situated in the cities of Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog, which is determined by the university’s scale and the broad range of tasks it addresses: establishing the university as a leading center for training highly qualified specialists; developing fundamental and applied research; and joining international research and educational networks.

Technological base
Students and research staff conduct research and development in international laboratories, design bureaus, and various centers, such as the Center for High-Tech Instrumentation, the Engineering Center for Instrumentation, Radio and Microelectronics, and the Advanced Engineering School of Southern Federal University (SFedU).
Tourist camps
Southern Federal University (SFedU) organizes continuing education programs and health-improvement activities for students and staff at sports, wellness, and educational tourism facilities: “Taimazi” (North Ossetia), “Limanchik” (Novorossiysk), “Vityaz” (Gelendzhik), and “Belaya Rechka” (Adygea).
Internship sites
Students of Southern Federal University can develop their professional skills at practical training sites, including the Gazprom Resort in Krasnaya Polyana, Rosa Khutor, Abrau-Durso Group of Companies, the Southern Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the SFU Botanical Garden, the Nedvigovka Educational and Experimental Farm, Sberbank, IBS Dunice, Neurotech, Oggetto, TUI/FUN&SUN, and others.
Library
The main library of Southern Federal University is housed in a historic mansion on Pushkinskaya Street. SFedU researchers and faculty members have free access to the full-text databases Web of Science, Scopus, SciVal, SpringerLink, and other digital resources.
Student campus
SFedU provides its students with comfortable apartment-style dormitories in Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog. The facilities include sports grounds, a swimming pool, a library, reading rooms, and a café. The student campus is a secured facility equipped with surveillance cameras and security personnel.
