For the past 30 years, a large number of researchers in academia and industry have been studying and developing novel materials for numerous practical applications. There are many unsolved obstacles, but there have been significant advances such as the development of improved materials for electronic applications (light-emitting diodes (LED), thin-film transistors (TFT), and photovoltaic modules (PV)), catalysis and gas-storage. This summer school is for young students who will become researchers and engineers to lead the field of materials science and make a significant contribution to technological development of the human civilization.
