The Master's program is designed as an independent program for students wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of intercultural communication and professional skills in simultaneous interpretation.
The program offers students in-depth knowledge of the theory of intercultural communication, applied linguistics, theory and practice of translation, in particular simultaneous interpretation. They will also get the opportunity to study and implement interpersonal interlingual mediation, eliminate conflict situations, manage people and processes, creatively and independently implement various types of translation, being fluent in at least two foreign languages.
Courses of computer technologies in translation, semiotics, psycho-neurolinguistic foundations of simultaneous interpretation, simultaneous interpretation in business / education / politics are among the most significant options of the programme.
Much of the research the students do is self-selected, allowing them to walk their own path of personal or professional interest.
Programme advantages
Students will get an idea of the key principles of research of the communication process in various spheres of public life and master the skills of analyzing the linguistic, psycholinguistic and socio-psychological aspects of interpersonal and intercultural communication. Students learn to carry out intercultural interaction in foreign languages, translation from a foreign language to the native one and back, apply creative approaches in organizational activities, eliminate conflicts and bridge diversities in the process of negotiations in foreign languages, organize various activities in an international company, etc.
