The aim of the Master Program "Siberian Region, Russia and the World" is to train highly qualified experts in regional studies with comprehensive systematic knowledge on the Russian Federation (Russian regions) and the ability to predict the further development of the country and its constituent parts. It is a programme for future specialists in state bodies, companies, expert-analytical centres, research and educational organizations.

Programme contents

A list of unique courses in Russian and in English include the following: Russian and Siberian Identities: development factors and interaction models; International and interregional relations of the subject of the Russian Federation; Global Security; Russia’s Foreign Policy; Contemporary Russian Science and Technology Policy; Social and political thought of the peoples of Russia; Countries of the CIS and Baltics; Central Asia in World Politic; Settlement of conflicts in the post-Soviet space. Information and analytical work; The Regional Sub-systems on the turn of the XX – XXI centuries; Russia and the European Union.

Career

Graduates can be employed at the administrative authorities; legislative and representative bodies; (Ministry of Interior, the Federal Security Service, Federal Drug Control Service, Federal Penitentiary Service, Federal Bailiffs' service, etc.); Mass media; analytical departments of state, municipal, public and private organizations; consulting agencies; companies and organizations involved in advertising and PR-activities; Higher education institutions; Expert organizations; and Research institutions.

Admissions

Only students with a higher educational diploma may submit application for this programme. The students shall be enrolled on a competitive basis according to the results of entrance examinations and interview.
