This International Master’s degree course (MSc) presents a comprehensive overview of the science about biological diversity ecology, evolution and dynamics, and of the methods for diversity analysis, calculation and estimation. Some of the classes are organized with lab and computer support so that the students can gain experience collaboratively conducting experiments and analysinganalyzing data. 
This programme is designed to prepare students for a career in research and conservation, or for further academic steps at Ph.D. level.

This International MSc in Biodiversity is especially designed for BSc students in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Science, etc. and/or to prepare to the following PhD program in Ecology and Evolution. Occasionally, and with the instructor’s approval, advanced undergraduates (with appropriate background and interests) will be admitted if there are available place

Career prospects
This MSc programme is directed todesigned for students who are interested to pursue in a career as:
  • environmental researchers in private institutions and companies
  • nature conservation manager (public administrator or private consultant), 
  • an officer at government agencies (environmental protection agencies, biodiversity centres, etc.) 
  • an employee of non-governmental organizations (World Wildlife Foundation, Nature Conservation Organizations, International Union for Conservation of Nature, etc.)
  • a manager of biodiversity infrastructures (GBIF etc.) 
  • a museum curator
  • a university researcher and/or teacher.
