Specialist’s Programme

Enrol in our law faculty and become a part of our big legal family!

Presently, the law faculty of KFU:

· is one of the leading educational and scientific institutions in the field of law

· employs a body of highly-qualified professors

· has over 2500 students

· offers the best in theoretical and practical training

· has wide connections with foreign universities, internships abroad, flexible academic mobility of students and teachers

· provides a rich and diverse student life

This programme is carried out on a full-time basis (5 years). Students may choose one of two specialisations:

- judicial activity

- prosecutorial activities

The programme is conducted on a contract (paid) basis. Upon successful completion of this course, the graduate is officially recognized as a qualified “Lawyer”.

The main employers of graduates of this course are courts and prosecutors. However, those who have mastered this specialisation are not limited only to state bodies, as they can also work in other legal organisations: attorneys, notaries, state and municipal services, legal advisers and any other jobs requiring a higher legal education.

The programs of both specialisations are designed to deliver both general knowledge and specific training in the chosen specialisation.

An advantageous difference between a specialist’s and a bachelor's degree is that the former is a 5-year education familiar to Russian employers, at the end of which a graduate receives the title of specialist (lawyer). The main advantage of the programme is its high prestige in the eyes of employers and full training. Specialists have the opportunity to teach at Russian universities and the right to hold positions in government. In addition, it is convenient for those who plan to engage in scientific work and further study at graduate school - a specialist can immediately enter graduate school, bypassing the master's programme.
