The program aims to create appropriate environment for postgraduates to acquire expert knowledge in ferrous metallurgy for their future professional activities. For R&D purposes they use the unique equipment in the department labs and the Innovation Metallurgical Technology Research and Education Center. Other sites for student research are experimental plants of multi-fuel gas generator and pilot bubble reactor plant at industrial sites in Istra and Mtsensk. Postgraduate field work takes place at Metprom group large engineering and design center.
